Jeremy’s Therapeutic Approach

Clinically Driven. Faith Informed. Person Centered.

Jeremy uses an integrative approach to counseling that draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Gestalt therapy, trauma-informed care, and person-centered therapy. Rather than simply focusing on what is happening on the surface, Jeremy works with clients to develop greater awareness of why they may feel stuck and then build practical tools to help them make meaningful changes.

During a typical session, clients can expect a warm environment where they can talk openly about the issues that brought them to counseling. Jeremy works collaboratively with clients to identify patterns, increase awareness, develop practical skills, and create strategies they can take with them outside the therapy room.

One of Jeremy's primary goals is for clients to eventually not need him. He wants therapy to equip clients with skills they can understand and implement independently—not create dependence on the therapist.

Ultimately, Jeremy hopes clients can grow through their hurt and pain and find genuine restoration and hope.

Christian Counseling & Faith Integration

Jeremy's graduate education at Reformed Theological Seminary included coursework that intentionally integrated psychology and theology. His faith continues to shape the way he understands both counseling and the people he serves. Jeremy believes that faith can provide an important foundation for clients who desire Christian counseling. Scripture can provide common ground and a standard by which clients can evaluate their thoughts, choices, relationships, and goals.

For clients who desire faith integration, Jeremy incorporates Christian principles and Scripture into counseling in a way that supports the client's therapeutic goals.
